Steal a work of art.

On October 23,
Eat, Drink, Party…
And go home
with a wonderful work of art!
Don’t miss the Locust Projects Just-No-Way-To-Lose Raffle.
Every single ticket wins an artwork.

Our annual fundraiser is your chance to help Locust Projects continue to offer an exciting program of alternative art exhibitions – and while you’re at it, have a great time and “steal” a work of art.

Where: Locust Projects
105 NW 23 Street Miami Florida 33127-4409
305.576.8570

When: October 23, 2004 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Here’s how it works:

When you buy a ticket, you are guaranteed a piece of art. Starting at 6:30 p.m., browse the gallery to identify the pieces that interest you most. You’ll be able to keep track of your picks by checking the corresponding boxes in the on the gallery checklist, and numbering the chosen work in order of your preferences. Starting at 7:30 p.m., all ticketholders’ names will be randomly drawn, one by one. When your name is drawn you get the opportunity to choose any work that has not yet been selected. If you are picked first, you will have first choice from all the show’s selections; the second name picked gets second choice; and so on down the line. The luckier you are, the closer you’ll be to getting your favorite piece – but there is no way to lose, because raffle tickets are limited to the number of works available, so that even the last name picked receives a work of art.

Buy your ticket now before they run out!

Supporting Alternative Art in Miami

Although alternative art spaces are a most important art community resource, issues of funding make them difficult to start up and particularly to sustain. In Miami, Locust Projects is one of the few alternative exhibition spaces to have managed to become a permanent and unique institution. Founded in 1998 by three artists who underwrote the first few years by their own efforts, Locust Projects is now a registered non-profit arts center, dedicated to investing in exciting and often under-represented creative projects. Located in the emerging Wynwood Arts District, in the heart of Miami between the Design District and Downtown, Locust Projects continues to provide the local, national and international art community with approachable exhibition opportunities. Your support helps in the mission to foster a multicultural calendar of visual and experimental art events by allowing artists to utilize an open environment, supportive staff, gallery/exhibition space, internet resources and more.
