Supporting Alternative Art in Miami

Although alternative art spaces are a most important art community resource, issues of funding make them difficult to start up and particularly to sustain. In Miami, Locust Projects is one of the few alternative exhibition spaces to have managed to become a permanent and unique institution. Founded in 1998 by three artists who underwrote the first few years by their own efforts, Locust Projects is now a registered non-profit arts center, dedicated to investing in exciting and often under-represented creative projects. Located in the emerging Wynwood Arts District, in the heart of Miami between the Design District and Downtown, Locust Projects continues to provide the local, national and international art community with approachable exhibition opportunities. Your support helps in the mission to foster a multicultural calendar of visual and experimental art events by allowing artists to utilize an open environment, supportive staff, gallery/exhibition space, internet resources and more.
