Locust Projects is an alternative exhibition space, producing and presenting contemporary installation, various media, video and performance art. Locust Projects is located in the heart of Miami, between the Design District and the newly christened Media/Production/Entertainment District. As a result of the increased public programming and the growing popularity of the design district, Locust Projects has chosen to create an alternative exhibition environment available near by. Locust Projects began the construction of an alternative space noting that there was a lack of approachable exhibition opportunities for experimental and emerging art projects in the metropolitan Miami area.

The main exhibition venue is approximately 1,650 square feet, with uninterrupted white walls standing twelve feet tall; typical industrial concrete flooring and large warehouse style doors. Click here to view submission details and Floor plans.

Locust Projects plans an exhibition schedule of at least 6 shows per year. In addition to the physical presentation space, the Locust Projects Website will become a vital accompaniment to the exhibitions, offering more in depth information and web specific presentations. Locust Projects is a committee based organization, consisting of artists and art historians, which are actively recruiting proposals both traditionally formatted and more creatively composed (such as drawings, narrative descriptions, CD-ROM, etc.). Locust Projects is a unique non-profit arts center dedicated to investing in the powerful and often under-represented projects that are dismissed by traditional galleries and museums.
