Locust Projects is pleased to present M.I.T.A.R.B.U.
(Mobil Internet, Television and Radio Broadcast Unit)
A project by Gregory Green. M.I.T.A.R.B.U. is a fully
restored 1967 VW Westfalia Campmobile re-outfooted with
a complete sound and video recording and mixing studio,
as well as a 100 watt VHF television transmission system,
a 35 watt FM radio transmitter, and is accessible on
the World Wide Web. Although this roving pirate transmission
station can potentially operate outside F.C.C. regulations,
during the exhibition TV and Radio broadcasts will be
transmitted at a legal power level within the gallery
to allow visitors to experience collected and arranged
media combined with live broadcasting.
Gregory Green is an internationally recognized visual
artist that is currently working on a full retrospective
for the torch Gallery in Amsterdam. He has had over
14 solo shows. His work has been collected in such prestigious
collections as the Museum of Modern Art in Los Angeles
and the Saatchi collection. He is prominently known
for pushing the limits of art beyond most peoples comfort
zone. Green became notorious overnight for his creation
of terrorist bombs, missiles and batches of LSD. He
is currently represented by Feigen Contemporary Gallery
in New York.
