LOCUST PROJECTS
105 NW 23RD ST
Miami, Fl 33127Dates: Dec 4th-27th, 2004
Opening Reception: Dec 4th 8-11pm
In the Main Space:
ERIC WESLEY
Fresh from his stint at this years Whitney Biennial,
Wesley has been working since mid-November on site at
Locust Projects on a series of interrelated objects.

In the Project Room:
GENERAL STORE: THE FOUR-COLOR PEN SHOW
Curated by Elysia Borowy and Heather Hubbs
In the project room, the communards of Milwaukee's
General Store are organizing a sprawling drawing show
in which artists can use that reliable
old staple of American high school graphics: the four-color
pen. No other requirements were given. The list of artists
thus far covers the spectrum, from heavyweights Julie
Mehretu and Jim Lambie to Matt Greene and Chicago brawler
Vince Dermondy (full list of artist below*). This show
will open in two states simultaneously-part at Locust
Projects and part at General Store in Milwaukee.
We'll have a live feed of the Midwestern madness.

On the Façade:
and i and i and i and i
L.A.-based artist Jedediah Caesar, of Running to the
Hills (Locust Feb 2004) fame, is organizing a poster
invitational. Dozens of artists were invited to produce
and mail cheaply constructed posters. They could announce
something or not, make sense or not, disseminate facts
or not
There was, in reality, no criteria to follow,
except that they be awesome. The posters will be wheat-pasted
on to the façade of Locust Projects and left
there until other poster pasters and local graf heads
work over them and the entire project dissolves into
the visual reality of the neighborhood.
