General Submissions

Locust Projects selection committee consists of Westen Charles (Founder), COOPER (Founder), Gean Moreno (Advisor), Claire Breukel (Executive Director), Susan Lee-Chun (Assistant Director) and Rene Morales (Associate Curator, Miami Art Museum). The committee reviews work of individual artists, collaborative projects as well as group-curated exhibitions. There is no deadline for submissions and proposals are reviewed throughout the year.

In keeping with Locust Projects mission the selection committee supports alternative exhibition proposals. An exhibition proposal needs to fulfill one of the following criteria:

• Be site-specific and/or experimental
• Have solid conceptual basis
• Challenge expectations

Locust is particularly interested in proposals made specifically for the venue (proposals may include sketches for a site specific installation).

Proposals should consist of:

• A brief and clear summary of the project (its concept and how the space will be used)
• Floor plans and drawings illustrating the idea
• 10 images on CD relating to the proposed project (labeled with name, title and date of work, medium, size)
• Project participants resume(s)
• An artist statement
• Video or other support materials if necessary

Please include a self addressed stamped envelope with the correct
postage for the return of your materials.
